Exports & Imports Government - Policy New norms to set up export warehouses K.R. Srivats
New Delhi , Sept. 6 The Finance Ministry has allowed export houses that are recognised as Two Star Export Houses and above to set up warehouses for export purposes. This has been done to facilitate trade and also align the Revenue Department's guidelines on this issue with that of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. The Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 now permits all export houses recognised as Two Star Export Houses and above to establish export warehouses as per the guidelines issued by the Revenue Department. Prior to the latest change, the Revenue Department had permitted export houses that had been granted the status of `super star trading house' or `star trading house' to establish warehouses. The Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 had renamed certain categories of exporters such as `Super Star Trading House' and `Star Trading House' as `Four Star Export House' and `Five Star Export House' respectively.
