Investigators will not have to send body samples outside Bihar for DNA test as the state will have its own laboratory for this by the year end.

The facility will soon be available at the Forensic Science Laboratory here, state DGP Abhayanand told reporters here on Friday.

Sophisticated instruments worth about Rs 3 crore had been purchased for the lab which was expected to start functioning by the end of this year, the DGP said.

Special training was being imparted to select personnel of Bihar police for operating the DNA lab, he said.
