Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy has asked officials to complete the sixth phase of land distribution in the first week of December.

The Minister held a review meeting with Chief Commissioner for Land Administrator Samuel and Principal Secretary (Revenue) Anil Puneta on the land distribution scheme at Chayapuram in Anantapur district on Wednesday.

The Minister is on a padayatra (Ananta Venkata Reddy Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanti Bhageeradha yatra) in Rayalaseema region.

The Government has set a target of distributing 87,128 acres of land for 60,182 people in the State in the sixth phase. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy launched the phase at Anantapur on November 3. But the Nilam cyclone had stalled the distribution activity as revenue officials were engaged in the cyclone relief works.

The distribution programme was completed in Srikakulam, East and West Godavari districts, Guntur, Prakasam, Anantapur, Kadapa and Karimnagar districts. About 40,000 people were given a total of 61,356 acres. The programme is yet to begin in Visakhapatnam and Nellore.

Raghuveera Reddy asked the officials to conduct a survey across the State to identify the land in the Government possession.
