Awards & Honours Star CEO bags top honours at telly awards Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 24 AT the MTR Indian Telly Awards here recently, the Star India CEO, Mr Peter Mukerjea, was adjudged CEO of the year, while Balaji Telefilms and UTV shared the award for TV Production House of the year. Star Plus was named Entertainment Channel of the year, and Aaj Tak was adjudged the News Channel for the year 2002, while MTV was the Music Channel of the year and Zee Cinema was named Hindi Movie channel of the year. This was the third edition of the awards, and Star Plus' Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand was awarded TV Programme of the year, and founder of ETV, Mr Ramoji Rao, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Best Continuing TV programme had two winners: Sab TV's Office Office, and Star Plus' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which also won the Daily Serial award. Star Plus' Sanjivani and Des Mein... won the Best Weekly Serial award. Reality Bites - The Petrol Pump Scam won NDTV and Star News the best current affairs programme of the year award, while Storyboard fetched CNBC-TV18 the best business programme of the year award. NDTV-produced Sports Tonight got Star News the award for best sports programme of the year, while Synergy Communications' Mastermind India on BBC World won the Game Show of the year award.
