Software Comsat Max eyes overseas markets Preeti Pandey
Mumbai , Feb. 5 V-SAT connectivity provider Comsat Max will aggressively scout international markets to garner more business. The global market is expected to contribute nearly 2-3 per cent of the company's revenues this year and as much as 10-15 per cent over the next few years. Having bagged a multi-year $2.5 million contract from a West Asian service provider to set up a V-SAT hub recently, Comsat Max is now exploring the West Asian and African regions to market its connectivity services. "In the US and Europe, we will push our remote network infrastructure-managed services," Mr Joyjit Chatterji, Vice-President, Comsat Max, told Business Line. According to research firm IDC, 80 per cent of the global $38 billion network infrastructure-managed service market is in the US and Europe. Comsat Max plans to tap into enterprises located in these markets looking to outsource their networking requirements. The network and security management services would be extended through Comsat Max's setup of redundant network operating centres with global customers being serviced seamlessly from India irrespective of their locations, according to Mr Chatterji. Meanwhile, Comsat Max has deployed the prototype of its security solution PortWise on six client sites. This uses a double factor authentication process wherein the user has to enter a user name and password coupled with a random number generated by the Comsat Max hosted server and delivered to the user's mobile through a SMS gateway. While the connectivity provider estimates 80 per cent of business from the domestic market currently, global markets would drive the company's business over the next few years, Mr Chatterji added.
