Commemorative stamps

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of Posts will be issuing multicolour commemorative stamps on various themes during this year.

Announcing this, an official spokesman said here that the stamps would be available for sale at all philatelic counters in the State while cancellation facilities would be available at the four philatelic bureaus of Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode Head Post Offices.

The blank first day covers and information sheets will be made available for sale at Rs 2 each. Those who are having a Philately Deposit Account at any of the philately bureaus can assure themselves of regular receipt of these stamps in their address by Service Registered Post.

The themes of stamps are C.D. Deshmukh, Nani A. Palkivala, Dr B.D. Garware, Annamacharya, Acharya Bhikshu, Madras (Travancore), Walchand Hirachand, Great Trigonometrical Survey, V. Lakshminarayana, Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, HSWBM Kolkata, Circumnavigation Voyage of Indian Naval Ship Tarangini, Peshwa Bajirao-I, Prof (Dr) Indira Chandra Shastri, Wood Stock School, P.N. Panicker, Olympics 2004, 150 Years Of Postage Stamps, Ashok Chakra Winners, Role Of Indian Army in UN Peace Keeping Operations, Maruthu Pandiyar Brothers, Dr Tenneti Vishwanatham, Children's Day, Nupilal, Greetings, Indo Iran Joint Issue, Flora/Fauna of Seven Sisters of the North East, Indian Breeds of Dogs, Panini, Guru Dutt, K.
