Referring to the Indian Star Nite 2004 in Malaysia and Singapore scheduled to be held next month, she said the film stars would act as true ambassadors of Andhra Pradesh Tourism.
Stating that the East and Far East offered huge tourist potential, she said Malaysia alone housed five lakh expatriates from the State.
Mr Murali Mohan, President of Movie Artistes Association (MAA), said the proceeds of the event would utilised to set up a corpus to fund a free insurance scheme covering the lives of MAA members.
As many as 200 artistes, dancers and technicians from the Telugu industry would perform in Malaysia on August 7 and in Singapore the following day. Coinciding the event, Mars Golden Holidays Private Ltd, the organiser, has announced a ten-day 'Star tour package'
