Response to day traders' strike call lukewarm

Our Bureau

Mumbai , July 13

THE trading volume was affected marginally on stock exchanges on Tuesday as a section of day traders refrained from active trading. The response to the strike call was lukewarm as several traders returned to the market, brokers said.

Brokers said most of their day traders' clients did trading and there was no impact on business.

The response was lukewarm as the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, had stated on Monday that he was open to review the transaction tax. The other reason was the good financial results announced by Infosys Technologies.
