Demand for visual effects specialists in movies on the rise

DEMAND for various art and software skills relating to visual effects in movies is on the rise world-over, Mr Barry Osborne, Oscar Winner and Producer, The Lord of the Rings, said here on Thursday.
He said that movie-making had today become a global effort and the market for specialists continued to expand.
Mr Osborne was here in connection with the inauguration of a `compositing studio' of the Chennai-based Image College of Arts, Animation and Technology, an institution that offers a one-year, full-time postgraduate programme in advanced digital media.
The college is run by the Institute of Multimedia Arts and Graphics Effects, which has 16 centres in India and abroad.
