Announcements Suprajit increases production capacity of cable division Our Bureau
Bangalore , July 30 SUPRAJIT Engineering Ltd, the automotive cable manufacturer, has increased the production capacity of its cable division to 50 million cables. The Bangalore-based Suprajit recently entered in to joint venture with Carclo Plc, a UK-based MNC and leader in technical plastics and specialist wire products, to set up a modern manufacturing base at Doddaballapur near Bangalore. The company has also announced its financial results for the first quarter ended June. It has recorded an increase of 56 per cent in turnover at Rs 30.39 crore against Rs 19.48 crore achieved in the corresponding previous period. Pre-tax profit for the quarter was Rs 3.96 crore (Rs 2.18 crore), an increase of 81.3 per cent. For the year ended March 2005, the company had recorded a turnover of Rs 109.89 crore against Rs 82.62 crore earlier, recording an increase of 33.01 per cent. Pre-tax profit amounted to Rs 14.81 crore (Rs 11.91 crore). Exports continue to be robust, clocking Rs 1.61-crore turnover for the first quarter of the year, against Rs 1.32 crore earlier, recording an increase of 21.67 per cent. To streamline its operations, improve systems, and its effectiveness, Suprajit is implementing an ERP solution across its units.
