NEW DELHI: The Government is examining a proposal to set up a Media Commission.

The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy, told Rajya Sabha, "The proposal and its various aspects are under examination."

He further added that a Group of Ministers has been constituted to review the existing Uplinking Policy. The GoM is yet to finalise its recommendations, he said adding a timeframe cannot be indicated in this regard.
