Rajasthan Spinning to produce ladies trousers for Marks and Spencer

TEXTILE major, Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd (RSWM)'s garment manufacturing plant in Bangalore is to produce ladies trousers for retail store, Marks and Spencer, the company announced on Thursday. The company is investing around Rs 40 crore for the unit, which is expected to start full operations from July 2006. The unit would be manufacturing 12,000 trousers per day.

Rajasthan Spinning is focusing its attention on strengthening its fabrics and garments business, which has been identified as a high growth area. It is also looking at enhancing production capabilities at its units and expanding its product line to shirting.

The company also announced the launch of its new collection, GLAZANO. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vijay Bakshi, Business Head - Fabrics & Garments, RSWM, said, "We are confident about the new fabric range and firmly believe that the product would revolutionise the market".

The GLAZANO Collection consists of formal and casual wear.

It is being launched under three ranges — Designs, Twills and Plains.
