Bangalore , April 21

Kinetic Motor Company expects revenues of between Rs 150 crore and Rs 180 crore from the sales of its newly-launched 165 cc Blaze scooter.

The Kinetic Motor Managing Director, Ms Sulajja Firodia Motwani, told newspersons that the company expects to sell around 40,000 units of Blaze during the 12-month period. "This should give us an additional revenue of between Rs 150 crore and Rs 180 crore in the first 12 months of its launch," she said.

Blaze is the first of the six scooters from the Italjet range, which will be launched in India in a phased manner. The second scooter in the series will be launched in July.

Last year, Kinetic bought rights for manufacture from Italjet Moto for launch of seven scooters.

These scooters, which have been designed by the Italian designer, Mr Leopoldo Tartarini, will also be exported to other countries. The ticker price of Blaze when it was launched in Europe around 2000 was about $4,000. In India, it is available at Rs 49,990 ex-showroom.

Ms Motwani said the scooter will be launched in other parts of the country in a phased manner.
