KITCO full-year net rises; to pay 15 pc

This is the ninth consecutive year in which the company has declared a dividend.

The net profit of KITCO has registered a growth of 187 per cent to Rs 49 lakh for the year 2005-06. Addressing the shareholders at the annual general meeting, Mr V. Janakiraman, Chairman, said the company had decided to give a dividend of 15 per cent for the year, as against the 10 per cent previous year.

This is the ninth consecutive year in which the company has declared a dividend. The turnover of the company has grown by 36 per cent to Rs 5.98 crore.

The company provided consultancy services to a large number of customers during the year, including the Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, Cochin Port Trust, Airports Authority of India, Cochin International Airport Ltd, Cochin International Aviation Services Ltd and the Tourism Department of Kerala.

The Airports Authority of India has entrusted the task of designing a new airport at Ranchi to KITCO. Earlier, KITCO had proved its capability by designing airports such as the Cochin International Airport, airports at Aurangabad, Vishakhapatanam and Ahmedabad.

It had also undertaken the planning, design and implementation of the aircraft hangar and Aviation Institute for Cochin International Aviation Services Ltd, undertaken the expansion of the Cochin International Airport and construction of the centre for perishable cargo.

It had prepared a detailed project report for the development of tourism infrastructure in Lakshadweep islands for the tourism department, as well as undertaken a study for the construction of a dedicated berth for passengers at the Cochin Port.

Foreign projects

KITCO is also gearing up for execution of projects abroad and has initiated steps to win contracts in countries like Oman and Ghana, and is exploring opportunities in Angola. Mr Janakiraman also announced the launch of a new division called KITCO Placement Park to cater to the requirements of employers and employees both in India and abroad.
