Moser Baer announced on Wednesday it would release video content — movies — in DVD and VCD formats. For starters, the company launched 101 Tamil titles. "These titles come from a library of over 1,000 titles, both from catalogue and some new films," says an announcement by the company to the BSE.

Another company, GV Films Ltd, also announced that its Webcasting division would "commercially exploit the huge library of about 6,000 films for which the company has Internet rights."

"The proposal of telecom companies to make available 2 mbps connectivity to Indian markets will open up further windows to this (Webcasting) division," the company told the stock exchanges.

"Moser Baer's distribution of the titles will reach almost every movie enthusiast and the company has already lined up 41 distributors in Tamil Nadu," said the company's bulletin.
