Software Avaya launches tool for unified network Our Bureau
Avaya would integrate its solutions with existing networks and applications through partnerships with multiple vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Nokia and Polycom. The product includes features such as shifting a call from the desk phone to mobile, viewing faxes from the browser and visual voice mail among others. It would also facilitate e-mail replies through a voice mail while on the road, or voice mail replies through an e-mail. It would feature a personal assistant to inform users about an incoming call and check whether they would like to accept it. Besides functioning as a reminder, the assistant can also be commanded to retrieve and read urgent messages from an individual boss or the mailbox. "We are looking to address the issue of disconnected devices and applications. To begin with, IT and ITES companies and banking financial services and insurance verticals would be our primary focus as these are collaboration intensive," said Mr Amit Mehta, Director, Marketing, Avaya Global Connect. He also said the new solution would generate revenues for telecom service providers with phone usages going up.
