Pune Feb. 15 Nautica, the US-based lifestyle brand, has launched its flagship store in Pune, the first in Western Maharashtra. Talking to Business Line, Mr Sumeet Yadav, Business Head of Nautica India, said the brand offers an exclusive range of men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories.

It is available in 60 countries globally with product categories that include sportswear, outerwear, tailored clothing, eyewear, watches, fragrance, footwear and accessories. The store, which is about 1,650 sq ft, offers T-shirts ranging between Rs 1,195 and Rs 2,895; shirts between Rs 2,495 and Rs 5,495, and denims between Rs 3,495 and Rs 7,500, for the men's range.

Mr Yadav said Pune was the fifth destination of the company. It has already launched the brand in Bangalore in May 2006, followed by Chennai, Chandigarh and Delhi. He said the company was looking at setting up 12 stand-alone shops in the country and the roll out plan was to open a couple shops in Mumbai, one each in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Ludhiana.

Asked whether it would make its presence felt in malls across the country, he noted that it would be a possibility depending on the location as also the footage of the malls. Mr Yadav said, currently, the company was sourcing the raw materials from across the globe and depending on the design requirements for the various locations, it was designed at its US facility and then sent across. He, however, ruled out the possibility of setting up a facility in the country.
