Wipro partners Ingres for open source solutions

Bangalore March 8 Wipro Ltd and Ingres Corporation, a vendor of database management systems, have announced a strategic alliance to develop open source business solutions on the Ingres platform and undertake joint go-to-market activities worldwide.

With Ingres as the key technology, Wipro will establish an open source Center of Excellence and practice at its Bangalore facilities. "We identify Ingres as a leader in the open source database space, and this alliance combines Wipro's system integration expertise with Ingres's open and robust database offering," said Mr Girish Paranjpe, President, Financial Services of Wipro Technologies.
