Outlook Finnish firm Citec to expand India centre V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad March 18 Finnish information management solutions provider Citec Information OY AB, part of Citec Group, has said they plan to expand their India operations based out of Hyderabad. The Chief Executive Officer of Citec, Mr Kai Dahl, said that the company has grown to a specialised documentation and information management solutions provider. This has paid off as increasingly companies such as Nokia prefer to concentrate on their core competencies. Mr Kai Dahl told Business Line that the company grew with focus on serving Scandinavian countries but has gradually expanded its services in some of the other European countries. Through specialised technology, tools and templates developed by Citec, we assist companies manage large volumes of information flow that is generated with the company and also help them effectively retrieve it. "Technology documentation is a specialised area. All the research and development work, project and product information has to be stored in a format that is easy to understand and retrieve. And it is also a cumbersome process. It is here we have specialised growing the clientele in Europe", he said. Asked if the task of managing multiple languages was a challenge, Mr Dahl said that most of the work is handled in English and there is no dearth of professionals. The India development centre would grow to about 300 people and potentially bring in savings of about 30 per cent. The company's clientele in India includes Wipro and Sasken.
