IT Training States - Tamil Nadu Gateway arm offering corporate, student training Archana Venkat
Chennai March 30 GATE, the training division of Gateway HR Solutions, is in the final stages of bagging a contract from IT and software development services provider Virtusa to train employees on soft skills such as business etiquette, body language, email etiquette and team dynamics. A 45-hour programme is likely to be designed for about 400 employees, according to Mr S. Thiruvengadam, Chief Executive Officer, Gateway. Besides corporate training, GATE also caters to student training and has recently initiated talks with city-based colleges for training students in soft skills. The company is also planning to make the programme affordable for colleges. GATE's office in Chennai will be inaugurated on April 14 and all training programmes will commence from then onwards. An advisory team has been put in place with Mr N. Swaminaathan as Chief Mentor. Members on the advisory board include, Mr R. Thyagarajan, Chairman of Shriram Group, Mr P.N. Devarajan, Ex-Group President, Corporate Planning, Reliance Industries, Prof A. Ramasamy, Dean Training & Placements, SASTRA, Dr K. Prithviraj of Pondicherry University, and Dr R. Raghavan, Dean, Member Board of IIT-Madras.
