DQ Entertainment signs pact with Think Corp

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Feb. 16 DQ Entertainment, an animation and gaming company, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Think Corp of Japan, which provides a wide range of intellectual property creation services.

The MoU would be the basis for the planned co-production of three animated high-end 3D TV series and a Direct-to-Home (DTH) video/feature film, according to a press release from the Hyderabad-based company.

The three productions are Honeinu-Kun in the Makkura Land, Love Rollercoaster and an untitled preschool-targeted series. A proposal to co-develop and produce DTH video/feature film, Coluboccoro, exists. The consolidated outlay towards these productions is estimated to be about $24 million. They are expected to be released from 2009 onwards.

The Chairman and CEO of DQE, Mr Tapaas Chakravarti, said “Joining hands with Think Corp to produce the animation TV series and the feature film for the global market would see the synergy between the two companies.”
