Outlook Industry & Economy - Education DQE plans animation academy in Kolkata Our Bureau Hyderabad, March 14 Gaming and animation company DQ Entertainment is set to commission a development centre in Kolkata next month along with an animation academy, to impart training in animation. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DQ Entertainment, Mr Tapaas Chakravarti, said that the support from the West Bengal Government and the availability of local talent has helped the company in deciding to set up a development centre and an animation academy. The Government of West Bengal has provided rental premises for a production house and animation academy as a part of the State’s efforts to encourage growth of IT-enabled services and generate local employment. The IT Minister of West Bengal Government, Dr Debesh Das, said DQE’s entry into Kolkata will boost the growth of IT industry and also bring in high quality training facility in animation.
