Zero Friction, EA launch gaming championship

Hyderabad, April 24 Hong Kong-based entertainment company Zero Friction and gaming major Electronic Arts (EA) have come together to launch Vixture, a pan-India gaming competition.

“The Championship is targeted towards hardcore gamers and will feature popular games of EA like FIFA, Need for Speed ProStreet, Crysis, Cricket 07, Fight Night Round 3. It will carry a total prize money of Rs 50 lakh,” Ms Charu Sabale, Director of Zero Friction India’s subsidiary, said at a press conference on Thursday. Vixture is targeting more than 50,000 gamers to battle it out; to secure a place among the 64 finalist teams shooting for the top spot in Mumbai in a three-day Vixture final to be held on June 13 and 15. “Teams of five gamers each will play five games in a winner-takes-all competition that will have preliminaries in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune, between May 15 and 30,” she said.
