Walt Disney TV appoints new head

New Delhi, May 7

Walt Disney Television International, India (WDTVI) has appointed Mr Venkat Ramana as Head of Affiliate Relations for India and South Asia. He would oversee affiliate relations across India including analog cable, as well as new strategies for digital networks. He would also manage the distribution relationship and trade marketing on the affiliate side as well as look after the interest of Disney channels in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Future distribution strategy for the channels, languaging strategy and exploring expansion opportunities in newer markets are also part of Mr Ramana's new responsibilities. "Mr Venkat Ramana has been a key member of our business since the launch phase and brings with him a strong understanding of the Disney brand," said Mr Antoine Villeneuve, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, WDTVI. - Our Bureau
