ESS wins TNA Wrestling rights

New Delhi, Aug. 15

ESPN STAR Sports has signed a deal for the exclusive broadcast rights of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling across the Indian subcontinent. The channel also has plans to bring TNA Wrestlers to the subcontinent on yearly promotional tours. The network’s channel, Star Sports, will start telecast of the wrestling shows on STAR Sports from September 3. The channel will feature two shows on Wednesday and Thursdays evenings. Fans will also get a chance to fly to Universal Stud ios in Orlando, Florida, to interact with TNA stars through contests that ESS and TNA plan to launch. The rights are for India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives. —
