Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Feb. 2 In the midst of all the controversy, Satyam Computer Services has managed to complete the university phase of its ambitious initiative to sponsor and promote football in the country.

The Nizam Institute of Engineering and Technology has won the finals of the inter-college Football Challenge. Dr Sridhar Maturi, Head of Sports Marketing, said, “We are on track to complete the university level matches and enter the next stage of the State-level”.

The winning college will participate in the State-level finals that will take place later this year.

This event is a part of the Satyam Football Challenge, which is supporting the existing inter-college format in universities across India, and will be inviting as many as 4,000 college teams to compete for the Satyam Cup.

S. Africa trip

Satyam will fly the Football Challenge National championship team to South Africa to witness matches at the Confederation Cup in June, according to a company press release.

Satyam is the official IT Services Provider to the FIFA World Cups in 2010 (Johannesburg), and in 2014 (Brazil).
