Info-Tech RapidShare eyes 3.6 m users from India NEW DELHI: Online file sharing and hosting company RapidShare on Wednesday said it targets a userbase of 36 lakh persons after the launch of more services this year. “Currently, we see about 2-3 million users from India every day using RapidShare everyday. We expect to see a 10-20 per cent increase in activity this year as we launch more services,” RapidShare Chief Operating Officer, Mr Bobby Chang said here. The company, which offers free and premium (paid for) services for online file sharing, is also targeting corporate and end-users to push its premium services. “The focus is on increasing premium users, who can share files with their peers in a secure environment. We are working on the strategy for this,” Mr Chang said. The Switzerland-based company has about 50 million users globally. It also offers services like RapidGames and also plans to introduce RapidMovies. Mr Chang, however, declined to comment on revenue numbers. - PTI
