Spotlight on speciality schemes
EQUITY funds have, by and large, benefitted from the general upbeat mood that the stock markets witnessed recently. Prices of cyclical and defensive stocks, along with a number of IT scrips, have been on the rise. MFs, however, should watch out for corre ctive action.

Stocks
It's consolidation phase on bourses
uptrend last week, with the benchmark Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) 30-share Sensitive Index (Sensex) gaining each day of the week. Broad-based consolidation scripted hopes for bullish sentiment as ``value investment'' returned to bourses in the tech-tired world. But the news (or views) from the traders' circles is that the coming week or two may also see consolidation in the technology stocks which would then propel the markets into a new bull phase.
