Events Lakme Fashion Week sees role for `stakeholders' Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 19 THE Lakme India Fashion Week, which gets under way in two months, has signed up with 57 fashion designers for the event. Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Vinod Kaul, Executive Director, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), said, "The event would bring together stakeholders of the fashion industry, who include designers, corporates, retailers, investors, buying houses, agents, exporters, choreographers and so on." In addition to Lakme Lever, other sponsors of the event include DHL, Seagrams, Sony Entertainment, Liberty, Hyundai Motors and Red FM. Lakme has signed up with designers Anshu Arora Sen, Aki Narula and Anamika Khanna for the Lakme Summer 2004 collection. According to Mr Anil Chopra, Business Head, Lakme Lever, the Lakme brand will continue to cater to SEC-A and B consumers, with its vale-for-money brand Elle 18 targeted at the price-conscious consumer.
