Digital Shoppy unveils e-store

Hyderabad , March 18

DIGITAL Shoppy has announced the launch of its e-commerce enabled click and mortar store — digitalshoppy.com — here on Thursday.

The store offers a range of products in consumer electronics, home appliances and small appliances for the consumers to choose, including from those that were virtually non-existent in the traditional stores, the Digital Shoppy Managing Director, Mr Mahesh Raju, told presspersons.

Mr Raju said the concept and the buying process was totally secure, convenient and easy. Aimed at attracting the consumers to do online shopping, the store has decided to offer several incentives, he said.

Stating that Internet business was built around home delivery, Mr Raju said the facility would, however, be limited initially to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The store has plans to extend the facility nationwide as and when it perfects the model in the two States, he added.

"With the changing lifestyles and increased awareness, about 30 per cent of consumers research online before purchasing. Of them, only about 5 per cent consumers purchase online. We expect this to result in a business of around Rs 25 lakh per month," Mr Raju said.

Starting operations with a single showroom at Somajiguda in May 2000, Digital Shoppy has now grown to six showrooms in the twin cities with the current year turnover of close to Rs 60 crore, he said.
