Chennai , April 1 THE National Readership Survey-2003 can now be released and used by subscribers. The CD-ROMs are being despatched, according to a press release from the National Readership Studies Council (NRSC). This follows the vacation of an ad interim order by the Delhi High Court, which directed NRSC to inform its subscribers "not to publish or rely upon the report till further orders of this Court." A Division Bench of the court vacated on March 25 the interim order passed on December 22, 2003, the release said. In the press release, the NRSC Chairman, Mr Krishan Premnarayen, said that data on Living Media India Ltd and HT Media Ltd would figure in the report since they have agreed in writing to unconditionally withdraw their suits in the Delhi High Court. But the data will not cover Rashtradoot (HUF): Rashtradoot (Daily), Rashtradoot Saptahik; Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Pvt. Ltd covering Indian Express, Chandigarh, and Financial Express, Chandigarh and Pune. This is in compliance with the injunction orders passed by the High Courts in proceedings filed by them. The NRSC has decided to delete from the report the data on frequency of reading, source of reading and place of reading though they are correct. This is because the alignment of figures was affected due to a bug in the software. The report has been prepared on the basis of data compiled by four research agencies and the deletion of these items does not affect the report.
