Textiles Century Textiles posts Rs 14.68-cr net Our Bureau
MUMBAI: Century Textiles and Industries Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 14.68 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2004, over a loss of Rs 3.2 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2003. Over the same period, sales grew 13.5 per cent to Rs 676.79 crore (Rs 596.14 crore). Other income slipped 27 per cent to Rs 16.80 crore (Rs 23.01 crore). Interest costs were Rs 10.87 crore (Rs 17.87 crore). In expenditures, the consumption of raw materials grew almost 17 per cent to Rs 159.21 crore (Rs 136.61 crore). Segment-wise, net profit for textiles fell almost 82 per cent to Rs 1.82 crore (Rs 9.89 crore). Net profit for cement rose to Rs 14.61 crore over a loss of Rs 18.36 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. For writing and printing paper it fell to Rs 3.51 crore (Rs 14.02 crore). For the quarter ended September 30, 2004, income from operations for textiles dipped to Rs 19.40 crore (Rs 197.71 crore); but rose for cement to Rs 256.26 crore (Rs 191.68 crore). For the writing and printing paper segment it rose to Rs 94.57 crore (Rs 89.87 crore).
