Saroj Poddar is FICCI President-elect

MR Saroj Kumar Poddar, Chairman of Gillette India Ltd, has become the President-elect of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

He will take charge of the office of the President of FICCI at the conclusion of the 78th Annual Session to be held next month.

Mr Poddar is a B.Com from Calcutta University and Founder Chairman of Gillette India Ltd. Mr Poddar is also the Chairman of Areva T & D India Ltd, Sri Vishnu Cements Ltd, Simon India Ltd and Poddar Heritage Enterprises, Co-Chairman of Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd and Zuari Industries Ltd, besides being the Vice-Chairman of Texmaco Ltd.

Mr Poddar is also on the board of Zuari Cement Ltd, Essar Shipping Ltd, and Lionel India Ltd. At the global level, Mr Poddar is on the board of Gillette management, Boston Indo Maroc Phosphore Company, SA of Morocco, a joint venture between Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd, Tata Chemicals and Office Cherifien Des Phosphates of Morocco.
