Spanco enters domestic BPO segment

Bangalore, Dec. 26 Telecom system integration company Spanco Telesystems and Solutions Ltd today forayed into domestic BPO services.

The new venture Spanco BPO has set up two flagship customer support centres in Gurgaon and Mumbai to provide back-office and contact centre services to domestic clients.

The centres will provide services to customers across diverse segments including financial services, insurance, telecom, entertainment, retail and hospitality sectors.

Spanco BPO plans to invest upwards of Rs 400 crore and set up facilities in multiple cities including, Chennai, Jaipur, Mysore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Noida.

The company currently employs over 3,000 people and is expected to increase the strength to around 5,000 in the first phase of expansion.

Support centres

Built to international specifications, the Gurgaon and Mumbai facilities will be spread over 2 lakh sq. ft. with a capacity of 2,200 production seats. The company aims to increase the capacity to 15,000 seats with over 25,000 employees by financial year 2009.

Commenting on the decision to enter the domestic BPO space, Mr Sandeep Soni, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Spanco BPO, said: “We believe this is the best time to enter the domestic BPO market given the huge emerging opportunities within the country.”
