Reliance Info launches Kollywood zone

Our Bureau

Chennai , Dec. 23

RELIANCE Infocomm announced its foray into cinema-based mobile content here on Thursday with the inauguration of `Cine Ulagam', a zone devoted to Kollywood films.

The service includes updates on the Tamil industry through an anchored programme designed especially for Reliance, which will include information and studio round-ups on the Kollywood industry, and will also offer a list of all the forthcoming films, along with previews and reviews. It will also offer movie videos, wallpapers, ringtones, polls and contests.

Mr V.G. Somasekhar, Circle Chief Executive Officer, Reliance, said that this collaboration between Reliance and the film industry is the first of its kind in the country, and is path breaking both in terms of technology as well as content. He said that cricket and cinema dominate the entertainment sector in India, and it was the next logical step to include these sorts of entertainment options on mobile phones.

He said that out of the 12-lakh Reliance customers in Tamil Nadu, 75 per cent would have the Reliance World option, which would allow the customer to access Cine Ulagam, not to mention the 1.5-crore customers across the country.
