Integration project: The Director General of International Organisation for Migration, Mr Brunson Mckinley, and the General Manager, TCS, Hyderabad, V. Rajanna, at a press conference in Hyderabad on Friday..-
Our Bureau Hyderabad, Aug. 3 IT services provider Tata Consultancy Services on Friday announced it has secured a multi-year integrated financial management solution deal from the Geneva-based International Organisation for Migration (IOM). While phase one of this deal involving seven major deployments would be completed by early 2008, the entire project spanning more than 120 countries and now involving over 1,600 projects would be completed over the next two years. Significant win
“This project would be implemented by engineers based in Hyderabad and onsite assets in Geneva using the global delivery services model and resources. The project, being implemented for a global inter-Governmental social organisation, is significant for TCS,” Mr Rajanna, centre head of TCS, said. Evaluation priority
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the IOM Director-General, Mr Brunson McKinley, said, “we have a vast array of financial responsibilities towards our donors and other stakeholders. As such, a key priority is to ensure that our financial operations are running smoothly and efficiently and we remain cost-effective. After a rigorous evaluation process we chose TCS, reposing faith in their technology capabilities.” Mr Rajanna said that this would mean deploying SAP Netweaver technology across its offices located even in some of the remotest places in the world.
However, both the TCS and IOM officials refrained to divulge the value of the deal. Solution base
This multi-year engagement would mean implementing a comprehensive system that provides a global solution for a range of functions such as accounting, budgeting, donor relations, treasury, funds, grants management, and donor reporting among others. The system also provides a corporate financial tool connecting IOM’s field across the world. This would also mean consulting for transformation.
