7Seas Tech will soon roll out 40 new games

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, Nov. 18

Online and 3D Games developer 7Seas Technologies Ltd plans to release 40 new games by the end of this fiscal, with an accent on offering them in multiple languages and tuning them up for Chinese and Korean markets.

These new offerings would cover 3D SuDoKu games that can be played online through a portal and a bunch of 3D games for mobile phone applications, according to Mr Maruti Shankar, Chief Executive Officer.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Shankar said, “Unlike several other game developers, the company has also rolled out games that reflect local lives and culture that could be classified as desi in nature. Therefore, we have “kodi punjulata” (popular cock fight) a common waging game in villages.”

More games

The company’s online game ‘Dancing Heroes’ modelled on popular ‘Dancing Bush’ in the US, helps players pit their popular politicians against one another. This game features most of the senior political leaders.

“Often game developers are a breed apart. They just take to game creation and develop them at their own leisure and convenience. But we have modelled the company on different lines by announcing games and releasing them on designated dates,” he said.

To make gaming interactive, the company has also brought in contests that help draw more gamers who log on to the site ‘onlinerealgames.com’ following referrals. The company has a bouquet of over 160 games, including 3D SuDoKu World, which has been rated high on Terragame, a rating site.

“To part fuel the company expansion, 7Seas has received funding of about $2 million (Rs 8 crore) from private equity players. This is an investment phase and with the launch of over 40 new games, we expect to enter the orbit of profitability,” he said.
