Screen smoking

It is sad to know that the Union Health Minister, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, faces possible removal from his post due to his tough stand against the depiction of smoking scenes in films and television serials. But the very fact that this threat has not deterred the right-minded minister from imposing this legislation is highly commendable.

One hopes that the day will soon come when all tobacco products will be banned in this country.
