ISPs Reliance Info deploys gateways for VoIP Our Bureau
Mumbai , June 29 RELIANCE Infocomm has deployed Internet Protocol (IP) media gateways that support 60,000 ports for international long distance Voice over IP (VoIP) traffic. The company's order for these gateways has been from Veraz Networks in what officials said to be a $7-million deal. Reliance Infocomm is running live traffic over 10 media gateways in New York, Los Angeles, London and Hong Kong, terminating in India, said a release from Veraz Networks. "As Reliance Infocomm's international network requires a stable solution that can scale massively, winning this Tier 1 carrier's business highlights Veraz's world-class solution." Veraz has supplied its I-Gate 4000 PRO media gateways, which provide compression rates of up to 10:1. Veraz Networks is a global provider of soft switch-based, packet telephony solutions for communications networks.
