Jamie Davis to head ESPN-Star Sports

THE Board of Directors of ESPN-Star Sports has appointed Mr Jamie Davis as the company's next Managing Director with effect from September 1, 2005.

Mr Davis was till recently the President of Star China and succeeds Mr Rik Dovey who has put in his papers. In a statement, Ms Michelle Guthrie, Chief Executive Officer, Star, and Mr Russell Wolff, Managing Director, ESPN International, said, "Our joint venture marks its ninth year in November and has enjoyed numerous successes under Rik Dovey's leadership. "Mr Jamie Davis will bring to ESPN-Star Sports strong industry credentials and a proven financial and business background. The board is confident that under Jamie's leadership and with the management team, ESPN- Star Sports will continue to grow in strength and remain the number one sports broadcaster in Asia." Mr Davis' international broadcast experience includes stints at CBS Sports, Fox Sports and Star in Hong Kong and China.
