Tata Indicom launches `Walky with FM'

Chennai , March 9

Tata Indicom introduced its `Walky with FM' product here today, an Axesteel P830 instrument that doubles as a FM radio receiver and Walky telephone.

Mr Ramesh Thondapi, General Manager - Marketing, Tata Teleservices, said that the phone features 10 programmable radio stations that can be automatically or manually tuned.

He said that with this product, the company hopes to add another 2 per cent to its existing 10 per cent market share in Tamil Nadu in the fixed line segment. There are about 30 lakh subscribers in Tamil Nadu for fixed line services, he said.

The Axesteel P830 phone also features 12 polyphonic ringtones, dual speakerphone system, Internet capability, internal phonebook, and a dual language menu. Customers can buy the phone for Rs 1,999 or exchange existing Walky instruments and pay a non-refundable charge of Rs 1,000.
