Targets 5 pc revenue from domestic market

Pune , July 28

Zensar Technologies, player in IT and BPO services, has chalked out plans to capitalise on the new emerging markets such as Continental Europe and Latin America and improve revenue turnover from the domestic market. Mr Ganesh Natarajan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Zensar, and Mr Jack Noble, Vice-Chairman, told newspersons that the company was planning to set up a delivery centre in Poland. The centre would likely be set up by the end of the current fiscal.

Mr Ganesh said that it would also leverage the Fujitsu alliance in Germany to bring in more customers, while pointing out that currently it has about three customers in Germany. He said the Fujitsu-Zensar alliance has about 150 people on its rolls and is targeting to grow this to 1,000 technical staff over the next three years resulting in revenues in excess of $30 million for Zensar.

The company is also planning to set up a 1,700-seater facility in Pune, which would have about 50 per cent dedicated personnel catering to Fujitsu and the remaining for other customers.

Mr Jack said the services portfolio has also been enhanced to include service offerings such as remote infrastructure management, integrated IT and BPO solutions and retail solutions.

Mr Ganesh said it was increasing its focus on the domestic market and targeting a 5-per cent revenue contribution to the total turnover by 2008-09. The company, which has its presence in the manufacturing and retail segment, had added pharma and textiles last year with the acquisition of the SAP company called OBT.

Asked about the loss-making subsidiaries, Mr Ganesh said the Chinese subsidiary which was started a couple of years ago is expected to breakeven this year, while the German subsidiary would look at the markets of Austria, Germany and Switzerland to bring in business. On the acquisition front, he said it would be looking at Continental Europe in the area of financial services.
